ARC provides students and new graduates across multiple disciplines with meaningful and impactful work along with one-on-one coaching and mentorship with senior professionals. Through successive terms and rotations within ARC, students and new graduates develop a broad spectrum of technical skills and have the opportunity to build a career with ARC.
ARC’s START Program
The START program is ARC’s student and new graduate program that focuses on providing deliberate technical skills development opportunities. By rotating through various disciplines, students and new graduates gain valuable skills and experience across a broad spectrum.
Positions in the START program are determined by business need and are assessed on an annual basis. When New Graduate opportunities in the START program are available, these positions are posted on our external website or filled by our contingency of students.
Co-op Student and Intern Student Programs
ARC partners with targeted universities for our co-op and intern positions. These positions are posted at the respective universities throughout the year. The work terms range from 4 to 16 month terms, depending on the university program.
Students in this program will work on high priority projects and gain real and meaningful work experience. All students are partnered with a senior technical expert who provides excellent mentorship and guidance throughout the work term. The practical work provided is an excellent complement to classroom learning.
Summer Student Program
ARC’s summer student opportunities are 4 month work terms that start in May and are based in our both our Calgary office and Field locations. We begin recruiting for summer positions in September for the following summer. All opportunities are posted in the Careers section on our website.

Engineering Start Program
The Engineering START program provides deliberate technical skill development opportunities for engineering students and new graduates. Engineering students in the START program rotate through successive student terms to gain valuable skills and experiences across a variety of engineering disciplines.
When new graduate positions are available, top performing engineering students are offered a new graduate position. New graduates have the opportunity to work in one of ARC’s field offices to gain valuable exposure and build practical knowledge and a strong foundation of industry and engineering experience. While working in the field, new graduates are exposed to multiple engineering disciplines. Upon business need, new graduates transition to a position in Calgary.
Accounting Start Program
The Accounting START program provides new graduates tangible development opportunities through rotations and exposure to multiple Accounting areas. New graduate positions include a four year rotational term through various Accounting areas including Royalty Interest Accounting, Joint Venture Accounting, Production Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury and Risk Management. Placement upon the completion of the term depends on interest and business need.
ARC’s Accounting START program provides an opportunity to develop a solid foundation and broad spectrum of accounting skills. ARC’s START program also facilitates the necessary work experience for those students pursuing their CPA designation.
